Baccalaureate
Sunday, May 27 at 8:00p.m. MHS Arena (Seniors arrive at 7:15p.m.)
- Wear proper dress attire (no cap)
- This event is voluntary for all seniors and families and is sponsored by the Ministerial Alliance and Christian Fellowship Club.
Senior Class Picture
Wednesday, May 30 at 9:00a.m., MHS Arena
- Wear proper dress attire (no cap)
- Pictures should be ready for seniors by May 31 at the stadium
Commencement Rehearsals
There will be three mandatory rehearsals held at the Multi-Purpose Stadium. Failure to attend these rehearsals will be recorded as absences.
- Tuesday, May 29 from 9 a.m. to 10:35 a.m.
- Thursday, May 31 from 9 a.m. to 10:35 a.m.
- Friday, June 1 from 9 a.m. to 10:35 a.m.
Commencement Ceremony
Friday, June 1 at 8:00p.m., MISD Multi-Purpose Stadium
- Wear proper dress attire
- Seniors should arrive between 6:30 and 6:45 p.m. to be placed in proper order for the processional to begin the ceremony.
- Commencement program will be online the week of graduation. All graduates will receive one on June 1 at practice for their parents.
Commencement Decorum
The commencement ceremony is a formal event. The use of any noisemakers and any items thrown (i.e. confetti, beach balls, etc.) are prohibited and will be confiscated at the entry gates. MISD staff members and Midlothian police will be on duty scattered throughout the audience. Any individuals engaging in disruptive conduct including use of noisemakers will be removed from the ceremony and ticketed by police. Please be sure that all guests you are bringing are aware of these procedures. This is an important time for student recognition; therefore, all normal applause is acceptable.
Commencement Parking and Shuttle
Midlothian High School has worked closely with police and city officials to provide a safe and well-organized traffic plan for this event. View parking map [PDF]
- The Multi-Purpose Stadium gates will open at 6:30p.m. Parking will be provided only on concrete surfaces. Parking capacity is approximately 1,025 regular spaces and 32 handicap spaces.
- Remote parking will be available at Frank Seale Middle School (358 spaces), Midlothian High School (1,200 spaces) and Midlothian Conference Center. The shuttle service will begin at 6:30p.m. and end one hour after the ceremony. There will be 4 handicap buses and 16 regular buses will transport guests.
- It is recommended that guests choose a parking location prior to the graduation ceremony in order for an efficient and timely route to the stadium.
Pictures/Video at Ceremony
Don Painter Photography will take pictures throughout the ceremony and as students receive their diploma. In addition, a DVD of the entire graduation ceremony will be available through Video Station. During graduation practice on June 1, students will be given information on how to purchase photos and the DVD practice on June 1, 2012. Download the DVD order form here. [PDF]
Parents and guest will not be allowed access to the field to take pictures of graduates before, during, or after the commencement ceremony. The area designated for parent pictures with graduates will be located in the parking area north of the field house. Please prepare your camera for photos in dark to semi-dark settings.
Alternate Commencement Date
If inclement weather prevents the Friday, June 1 commencement ceremony, the following date and times have been scheduled at the MISD Multi-Purpose Stadium:
Saturday, June 2
- 8:00p.m. (First preference)
- 3:00p.m. (Second preference)
- 11:00a.m. (Third preference)
In the event of the cancellation of the June 1 graduation date, alternate graduation information will be posted on the MISD & MHS Websites.
Proper Dress Attire
Seniors must wear a cap and gown for the Commencement Ceremony and Senior Class Picture. At Baccalaureate, students will wear the gown, no cap. All school dress code requirements shall be followed.
- Males - white collared shirt with dark tie, dark colored trousers or black jeans, no tennis shoes, no shorts
- Females - dresses are required, no tennis shoes, no shorts
Note: To lessen wrinkling, keep gown on a hanger until time of event. If gown needs ironing use a cool iron.)
Senior Transcripts
All graduates requesting final transcripts mailed after graduation should fill out a form in the counselor’s office before school ends. The transcripts will be mailed after all the information has been recorded.
Diplomas
Graduates can pick up their diplomas at the MHS main office during normal summer business hours (Monday-Thursday, 7:30-4:30p.m).

* Be sure to tell the cashier that you are with the Midlothian High School Project Graduation. They will have a bucket to put receipts in.

The parents of the Midlothian High School Senior 2012 class and our local business community sponsor Project Graduation.
