The commencement ceremony is a formal event.  The use of any noisemakers and any items thrown (i.e. confetti, beach balls, etc.) are prohibited and will be confiscated at the entry gates.  MISD staff members and Midlothian police will be on duty scattered throughout the audience. Any individuals engaging in disruptive conduct including use of noisemakers will be removed from the ceremony and ticketed by police.  Please be sure that all guests you are bringing are aware of these procedures. This is an important time for student recognition; therefore, all normal applause is acceptable.

Pictures/Video at Ceremony

Don Painter Photography will take pictures throughout the ceremony and as students receive their diploma. In addition, a DVD of the entire graduation ceremony will be available through Video Station.  During graduation practice on June 1, students will be given information on how to purchase photos and the DVD practice on June 1, 2012. Download the DVD order form here. [PDF]

Parents and guest will not be allowed access to the field to take pictures of graduates before, during, or after the commencement ceremony.  The area designated for parent pictures with graduates will be located in the parking area north of the field house.  Please prepare your camera for photos in dark to semi-dark settings.

In the event of the cancellation of the June 1 graduation date, alternate graduation information will be posted on the MISD & MHS Websites.
