Attention Kindergarten Parents:
Gifted and Talented Screening
The elementary counselors will be presenting a program regarding the nomination and screening process for the Midlothian Independent School District's Gifted and Talented Program on Tuesday, January 13, at 6:30 p. m. at the L. A. Mills Administration Building, 100 Walter Stephenson Road.
The Kindergarten nomination window will run from Jan. 12 through Jan. 23, 2009. Students identified as gifted and talented will be served by March 2, 2009. All other elementary and secondary GT screenings will be conducted in April, with testing being conducted in May. Parents of kindergarten students may request a nomination packet by contacting your childís teacher. If you have any questions regarding the nomination or screening process, please contact your child's counselor. |

Mathematics Pentathlon Upcoming Events
Midlothian ISD Elementary Schools are offering free game nights! Every adult is welcome to
bring one child to participate in the activities. During the sessions you will have fun learning
how to make math exciting for your child. These events are beneficial for implementation in
the classrooms, forming after school math clubs, use at home, and individuals interested in
attending a national tournament. All Math Pentathlon games are in alignment with the Texas
Essential Knowledge and Skills.

YMCA After-School Care
Midlothian ISD Elementary Schools
The YMCA Childcare Program is an after school childcare service offered at all six MISD elementary schools. The YMCA maintains a staff to child ratio of 1 teacher per 15 kids. The program is licensed by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services and conforms to the strict standards of the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas. The program serves children in grades K-5, with care available from 2:45pm-6:30pm, Monday-Friday. Click here for more information. |
