History

The Midlothian ISD Administration facility was named after former superintendent L. A. Mills, who served from the fall of 1931 until his retirement in February 1968. He served 37 years as Superintendent of Midlothian schools.

The facility opened as an elementary school in 1963 and housed first through fourth grades. The building expanded to accommodate the increasing number of students in 1987 and later converted to a 9th grade campus in 1997.  After three years, the building was no longer large enough to house any single class in the district.  In early 2000, a 6-month renovation transformed the facility into what it is today, the L. A. Mills Administration Complex.

The L. A. Mills Administration Complex is home to all central office personnel for the district. In addition, it is the site for school board meetings, teacher orientation and training, student testing, community immunizations and the disciplinary alternative education program (DAEP).  It has also been used as a polling location for district voting.
